If you condensed every single official duty of the President of the United States into a list of perhaps four or five things, taking responsibility and management of his or her own citizen's welfare would be one of them.

And on that topic the President has- not just in the last 36 hours but by the last 36 months- totally failed at this.

Along with failing as a leader George Dubya Bush has been the most efficient salesman for the corporate driven Republican party with selling the idea that equates Democracy with Capitalism.

Democracy is a political system, not an economic system.

Capitalism is an economic system and from it flows both good and bad and the Republican Congress, funded by their corporate benefactors, has managed to direct the flow of the wealth of America to the most wealthy Americans. This is not speculation but statistical fact.

Having created an economic climate where the rich thrive on the tax code, the poorest pay little or no taxes, and a shrinking middle class is expected to pick up the tax bill, the corrupt lawmakers cry "Class Warfare" when the socio-economic unfairness they have created is brought to their attention.

Anyone following the progress of George W. Bush in politics would have seen a man driven by the simple concept that government's primary purpose is to serve the business community and the citizen gets what is left over.

This is a way of saying that you get the president you voted for:  the
so-called "Compasionate Conservative" who turned out to be neither.
